Our Twelver Shia editorial approach

Editorial position: this educational website presents the Ithna Ashari (Twelver Shia) interpretation explicitly. Qur’anic wording, hadith attributions, established historical events, sect-specific doctrinal conclusions and later devotional reports are distinct categories of evidence. Readers should not mistake an interpretation for a universally accepted historical claim.

How the stories, histories and learning activities on The Ahlulbait are framed and reviewed.

Our perspective

The Ahlulbait is written from the perspective of Twelver Shia (Ithna Ashari) Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), Lady Fatima al-Zahra (SA) and the Twelve Imams (AS) are presented according to Twelver Shia belief, including the doctrine of the Imamate.

How we use sources

We distinguish (1) direct Qur’anic statements, (2) teachings attributed to the Prophet and the Imams, (3) historical reports, (4) later devotional traditions, and (5) simplified educational retellings. These categories should not be confused with one another.

Historical accounts and narrations are not all equally well attested. Where accounts differ, we identify uncertainty instead of presenting a disputed detail as established.

For children

Children’s stories use gentle language, avoid graphic details, and explain the Shia understanding without inventing scenes, dialogue or Qur’anic claims. The original fictional Story Garden is labelled separately from Qur’anic and historical stories.

Sources and further study

Al-Islam.org — Stories of the Prophets

Al-Islam.org — The Event of Taff, narrator study

Al-Islam.org — Adam and Hawwa in Shia narrations

These are starting points for study. They do not mean that every passage on this website has been independently verified.

Review status

This is an editorial alignment pass, not a completed scholarly assessment. Detailed accuracy and attribution across all biographies, quizzes and traditional reports need qualified human review before the material is represented as authoritative.
