Early genealogies differ. These charts distinguish one transmitted account from an independently verified continuous pedigree.

Explore the family tree in three steps
  1. Choose an era to explore the relationships.
  2. Scroll the diagram horizontally if needed.
  3. Search the people directory for a name, then open their details.

Tip: the chart can be scrolled sideways on a phone. Select a person to jump to their entry; the directory below also supports name searches. Traditional and historically documented connections are labelled separately.

Understanding the chart

Why the early lines are dashed

A transmitted genealogy is a record of a tradition, not modern proof of every generation. Pre-Adnan sequences vary; this chart selects the account reproduced in Beacons of Light.

Family & relationship

Two branches meet

The Prophet and Ali share Abd al-Muttalib as a grandfather. Ali’s marriage to Fatimah connects the branches. The app also records al-Baqir’s descent from both Hasan and Husayn.

Sources, scope and differences between accounts

The pre-Adnan charts use the extended account in Beacons of Light, which also records alternative sequences. Names are normalised for readability; variants are not silently combined into a new pedigree.

Mahdi Pishvai’s history explicitly notes disagreement before Adnan. Ja‘far Subhani’s The Message gives wider ancestral context.

The Ahlulbait family chart and directory preserve the app’s selective parent/child and marriage records. The chart does not claim to list every child, spouse, mother or descendant. Existing app historical material remains subject to editorial and scholarly review.

Azar appears in the directory as a scriptural figure with debated identification; no unverified parent link to Ibrahim is added. Dates are omitted from the early traditional sequence rather than guessed.
